The Problem
A local business owner had no official website for his business, and wanted me to create something for him that would detail every service his business offers, so he can use it for advertising purposes.
The Solution
In order to solve this problem, I created a website for him, that allows for people to easily check out every service his business requires, along with the ability to contact him directly.
My Role
I conducted research on the local market and with the business owner to create a website for his product.
Research
In order to get a feel for what the client needed, I met with him to research the necessary features for a taxi transportation service involved an in-depth discussion about their business goals, target audience, and operational requirements. We began by identifying key functionalities such as ride booking, fare estimation, real-time tracking, payment integration, and driver management. The client emphasized the importance of user-friendly interfaces for both passengers and drivers, along with safety features like emergency contacts and ride-sharing options. Additionally, we explored potential differentiators, such as loyalty programs and AI-powered route optimization. By gathering these insights, we laid the foundation for a tailored solution that aligns with the client’s vision and market needs.
Sketches
With my research, I sat down to create several sketches in regards to what features he needed on his website. I wrote down exactly what he needed, then created many sketches detailing what the website should look like.
Outcomes
The creation of the taxi transportation service website led to several key outcomes. First, it provided a seamless and user-friendly platform for passengers to book rides, track their trips in real-time, and make secure digital payments. For drivers, the system streamlined ride assignments, navigation, and earnings tracking, improving overall efficiency. The integration of safety features, such as emergency contacts and ride history, enhanced passenger trust and security. Additionally, the website’s implementation of AI-powered route optimization reduced wait times and improved service reliability. Overall, the project resulted in a competitive, scalable, and well-optimized solution that met the client’s business goals and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Lessons Learned
From this experience, I learned the importance of thorough client communication and active listening to fully understand their needs and expectations. It became clear that a successful taxi transportation service requires a balance between user convenience, driver efficiency, and business profitability. I also realized the value of researching industry trends and competitor offerings to propose innovative features that set the service apart. Additionally, gathering client feedback early in the process helps prevent costly revisions later. This experience reinforced the significance of flexibility in adapting to client preferences while ensuring the feasibility and scalability of the proposed features.
